Little Victories (Out 4/21/26) —

Dakota James has never been able to escape his brother’s shadow.

Theo was the gifted one, the writer destined for greatness, until he took his own life. Now, offered the same apprenticeship Theo once nearly completed with the celebrated Francis Petrova, Dakota accepts—hoping that by finishing what his brother began, he might finally claim a voice of his own.

But Francis’s world is merciless: every critique a knife, every page a reminder of the brilliance Dakota will never match. And there, always lurking, is Oliver—Francis’s grandson-turned-adopted-son—volatile, magnetic, impossible to ignore. What begins as late-night writing sessions and shared cigarettes grows into something deeper, a love both intoxicating and dangerous, shaped as much by grief as by desire.

Set against the rain-soaked streets of Seattle, Little Victories is a cinematic novel of legacy, betrayal, and the peril of living for anyone but yourself.

For fans of Call Me By Your Name, Intermezzo, and A Little Life.

About the author, Dylan

Dylan grew up with a slightly transient upbringing—spread equally between living in the suburbs of Chicago, the mountains of southwestern Colorado, and the Phoenix valley.

He’s called many places home (although he’s never stayed long enough for them to feel like it), but the one thing that brought him peace was writing.

Having started out writing fanfiction in high school, Dylan spent his college years bouncing around numerous ideas for original fiction. He has written many novels (of which they will never see the light of day).

Little Victories, his debut novel, is set for publication in 2026.

He lives in the Pacific Northwest, happily calling it home.
